We’re Working to make the Hudson Valley great!

Poughkeepsie Journal Media doesn't just cover our community; we're a part of it. That's why we believe the role of the Poughkeepsie Journal involves more than reporting the news. From raising funds that help at-risk children and families to sponsoring local events, our commitment is to improve areas where we live and work.

The Poughkeepsie Journal annually provides thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of volunteer time to assist needy families and nonprofit organizations through three main channels:

Gannett Foundation:  A philanthropic foundation sponsored by Gannett, the Gannett Foundation supports non-profit activities in Poughkeepsie and other communities in which Gannett does business.

Holiday Helping Hand: A partnership between United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region and the Poughkeepsie Journal established in 1983 to help thousands of people in our community through donations. Affecting the lives of children in need of clothes, residents in need of heat and others in need of services, 100% of all donations go directly to organizations and individuals in need.
